Hidden Valley Resort
Huntsville, ON
Sat, April 30, 2011
After five fabulous years at Deerhurst Resort, we're making some big changes to start our season. New course designers, a new resort location, new timing systems, a new after-party and more!
This race nearly sold out in 2010, so get your registration in now and be part of this high-energy weekend.
Big News! CBC will be filming the race!
That's right, the CBC will be descending on this race with a huge crew to capture the entire experience dusk to dawn. All across the country on April 30, they'll be capturing snapshots of life in Canada for their 75th Anniversary celebration documentary, 1 Day - and the Frontier Adventure Challenge will be part of it.
So bring your costumes, your camp songs, and your video cameras, because they're looking for your content as well. This project will be 50% generated by YOU - check out the 1 Day website for more on how you can submit your content.
Join in the fun!
Canadian Shield erupting from the forest floor...mud bogs that will swallow your bike...trails that snake through diverse forests sprouting new green life...maybe sunshine, maybe rain...and 300 other crazies full of anticipation at the start line.
Grab two friends or strangers, or go solo, and join us on Saturday, April 30 to kick off your summer adventure racing season, as we take you off the beaten path in the Frontier Adventure Challenge - Huntsville.
TOP-NOTCH COURSE DESIGN: After their noticeable performances in our 2010 season, we've handed over course design to Mike Varieur of Team Six Feet Under. A local and experienced racer, he's put together a course with great new trails and forest, challenges for both the experienced and new racer, and more mud than you can imagine! You're going to love it!
IMPROVED ACCURACY AND RESULTS: We're double-testing the course in the spring to ensure it delivers. We'll have our CPs reviewed inside and out, and once more just because. And we're introducing SportIdent tracking so your results will be fast and accurate.
WIN RACE DISCOUNTS: Top teams in each category, and the top solo racer, are each rewarded with a 50% discount on the Fall Classic in September.
POST-RACE PARTY: Party with The Short Films, join in the jam session (Survivorman will be!), enjoy the atmosphere of Hidden Valley's restaurant/bar overlooking the lake, and celebrate your achievement. Bring your dancing shoes, your guitar or kazoo, maybe a costume, but definitely your Red Bull.
Then enjoy all Muskoka has to offer on Sunday - the spa or golf at Deerhurst, enjoy Hidden Valley's Wellness Services, pool & fitness centre, or beach, go trail riding on horseback, try wakeboarding, or see the sights you missed while racing.
Hidden Valley Resort is offering great rates for racers, volunteers and their friends and families! A cozy resort with high standards and new owners, Hidden Valley offers nearly 100 rooms with a variety of amenities and room layouts. Grab a room and join us for the athlete's village environment!
