Raid the North returns to the beautiful Okanagan Valley of BC, back to one of our favourite destinations - Silver Star Mountain Resort. In 2004, we loved the challenging and varied terrain of this area, and the fabulous hospitality of our Silver Star hosts. They've invited us back, and we jumped at the chance.
Don't miss western Canada's only adventure race longer than 8 hours. Your four-person team will experience a true 36-hour wilderness adventure in the Monashees, exploring more than 150 kms of pristine lakes and mountain peaks, lush orchards and desert terrain. Add in the temperate weather and abundant sunshine of the Okanagan, and you have a recipe for a perfect adventure racing weekend.
THE RACE: How did Raid the North become Canada's premier adventure race? By throwing it down: tough courses through real wilderness that test your teamwork while challenging you personally, physically, and mentally. The finish line is secondary in Raid the North; the true achievement is on the course, pushing past the limits you thought you had.
COURSE DESIGN: Our experienced course design team has created a unique course that holds true to the principles of Raid the North. Tough, scenic, epic, fun, and memorable...this will be a wilderness course to truly challenge your team. We'll be testing and fine-tuning it thoroughly over the summer, and will be posting images and reports as we put experienced racers out there.
POST-RACE DINNER, AWARDS & PARTY: Following a social afternoon at the finish line in Silver Star's colourful village, racers, support crews, volunteers and race staff come together for a poolside awards dinner. We'll have an awards ceremony to recognize the top teams, last teams, and funniest moments; we'll share race stories, recognize volunteers, and award more prizes for all sorts of crazy reasons.
We'll cap off the weekend with a licensed post-race party - and we'll keep things interesting with comical race stories, cheesy games, and unique stunts worth cool prizes.
